Getting my paperwork ready to send to Miramichi...

Maybe a dumb question but I want to get everything done right the first time without any additional delays.

So according to the instructions on the PAL/RPAL form it says to send (Photo)COPIES of the CFSC Report whereas my course instructor told us to send in the originals (but make copies for ourselves).

Which is correct? I would just send copies in but what the instructor said put doubts in my head.

Did you not get 2 copies of the CFSC back in the mail? The test is a 3 (or 4?) part carbon copy form. I got back 2 of 'em per test, then sent one set with my application and kept the other to roll joints (kidding!)

Copy 4: CFO

All I got was the top copy (Copy 1). I completed the course and exams on Saturday and the instructor gave us the Course Report at the end. The report shows the grade for the written and practical as well as the instructor/examiner's information. 1 each for CRFSC and CFSC. Didn't get the "test" forms.

This is how it worked for me too. I got one page per test but the instructor told me to send in a photocopy.
There should be a number on the first page of the information sheets, call them and ask.

Different provinces do it differently, and this is where the location tag under our names comes in handy. Quig's says London, Ontario. Pretty sure in Ontario you don't get a copy from the instructor, instead it comes in the mail.
 
just to give you an idea of how DIFFERENT it is, when i took mine the works was forwarded to the cfc by the firearms instructor- 11x17 brown envelope, and everybody was snet in together- you STILL had to wait the manditory 28 days, although i didn't as i was already "IN THE SYSTEM"- mine was a simple upgrade from pol to pal- i took the course for the "acquire" side of it only-the applicant did NOTHING; but this is ALBERTA,where things are done differently

As an aside: it's funny how even though this is a Federal "program", the provinces still do it all their own way...
 
I just got my test results back from the Ontario CFO the other week they sent two copies. Going to send in one of each and keep the other one for my records.
 
Yup, send in a photocopy, put the original(s) in your safety deposit box. That way if it gets lost along the way, you can still photocopy the original and send it in again.
