When buying gear do the dies have to be from the same maker of gear or can you use any dies with any gear?

Any will do! As far as I know, but what do i know!

In general, it all works together. However, you do occasionally find stuff that doesn't. That's the exception though, not the rule.

Yep, that is the case with my Redding Competition bullet seater. The sleeve bottoms out on some shell holders instead of the case shoulder.
