Bruteman, ive been out three times this year. first day on gallahger ridge the birds were really skiddish and didnt want to play.

day two and three i was near notre-dame, which has always been a great bird spot, but havent seen a thing yet this year.

glad to see someone is gettin' them. Im going to try portagevale and anagance this weekend. hopefully the luck is better.

I was out on Sat last week. Saw five, got two for the morning. It was a good start for the year and I got to win the "First Bird" contest with my hunting partner. :D

.

Out about 5 times so far in the Geary and Rusigonis area and haven't seen diddly squat! Can't wait until the leaves are off the trees and there is some nice frost in the air for the morning hunts.

This wind has them REAL jumpy.I'm finding them mostly in the alder thickets.

They're either down in the alders or up in the acorns .... and always, always in the highbush cranberries. Looks like we'll get some heavy frost at the first of the week which will knock of some more of those leaves and suffocate that stubborn undergrowth where they hide so stealthly.

I'm up in Edmundston (no, not Edmonton) and I have seen a fair number of birds, both Ruffled and Spruce. I'm up to four and a rabbit so far. Actually, I had some ruffie for supper tonight. :D I filleted (that's not really how you spell that, is it?!?) the breast, dipped them in egg and rolled them in a mixture of bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, and a few odd spices and baked them up in the oven. Mmmmm-mmmm good! :)

The leaves are really starting to go up here so it's much easier hunting them now.

Matthew
