So decided to take a plunge into reloading. The plan is to start on 38/357 and 45acp then adding 9mm and 223. I have read the ABC's of reloading but find there is still alot to understand. What are some recommend books, or important things to know before beginning. Last question would be is the Lee turret kit a good place to start?

I started with .308 and .357 using a single stage RCBS, worked great but to improve speed a bit i bought a Redding Turret as well. I'm sure the Lee would be fine as well, pretty simple process to reload once you do it a few times. I have a number of reloading books such as Lyman, Hornady, Speer, etc. but found the best info for me was watching many many you tubes on what I was wanting to reload, some are excellent.
Important things are a good powder scale, calipers, good die sets, brass prep equipment, and most important is patience and caution. Double and triple check everything to start, always start with starting powder charges, go slow at first, after awhile you will become proficient. I'm no expert but have now safely loaded thousands of .357, .308, and .44's

Do not discount the lee loader classic. I would also recommend getting the lee reloading book. Everything lee is a fraction of the price of everything else and works just as well. The book is 20 bucks and has the same info.

The lee turret would suit your needs. Especially if you are starting with pistol. Single stage is slow for pistol. The turret can be used as a single stage until your comfort level increases. I like the Lyman book as well as online data from hodgdon and nosler. Youtube is a great reference for beginners
