I have a collection started, but what I'm looking for is an example of each caliber listed (for example) in a ballistics table.
Is there anything like this on the market? or will I have to source each round individually?
Any ammo collectors here? Ideas?
thanks

I like to use gun shows to pick up random single cartridges. Then I use those cartridges to give me a reason to buy some neat random calibor gun.

There are, or used to be, 'Cartridge boards' put out by the ammo makers. They're usually just pictures these days. The ones with actual cartridges are not cheap. Those boards are collector's pieces themselves. A frameable, printed, replica of an old Winchester board runs $175US. A Yahoo net search for 'cartridge boards' turns up 10,700,000 sites.
It's more fun to collect 'em yourself. As mentioned, gun shows are great places to look.

A representative collection using a ballistics table would certainly be a theme. Add variations of each cartridge, and the collection would certainly grow. There are more variations in themes for cartridge collecting than you can shake a stick at. For example, the number of possible variations in .450" revolver are amazing - and that is only one obsolete calibre. I have a number of .303 cartridges, over 100 different headstamps, IIRC, and that is only a drop in the bucket.
Gus shows are good places to look. There are also cartridge collectors' shows.

I collect rifle cartridges loaded with smokeless powder that are old timey or just cool. Stuff like original .405 win, .33 Win , .375 Eley , 8-bore. I also collect steel shotgun shells as funny as that sounds it is fairly interesting.
