3x ^ The manuals tell you what to do, they can even help you decide what stuff you want. Kits help bring the cost down for sure. You will want additional manuals for cross referencing loads. I have 5, plus a bunch of pamphlets and annuals, and I still wish I had more.

So much to learn so little time. I got the manuals coming in the mail :D and then I figured I might get the LEE BREECH LOCK CHALLENGER PRESS KIT since I have a limited budget. The money you can spend on reloading seems to be endless. There are tons of threads on this subject that you can search here.

The RCBS Rockchucker Supreme Master Reloading Kit gives you everything you need to start reloading except for dies, powder & primers. It does include the Speer #14 loading manual. This kit is more pricey than Lee but well worth every cent. I am not against Lee equipment (just their trimmers).I still have my Lee Challenger press and still use it for lighter duties.
