Hello all,

I am about to get into reloading my own ammo and was wondering what press (or press kit) people recommend most. There are a few good ones out there, but I'd like to hear some opinions. Thank you.

Slug,

You need to answer a few questions first.

1) How many calibers are you going to be loading for? Are they all rifle, or pistol, or both?

2) How many rounds a month will you be shooting?

There is a mountain of equipment that is nice to have, but depending on your real needs, we can prune the list down to the bare essentials.

Thank you for the reply. The answers to your questions are:

1) I plan on reloading 3 or 4 calibers of strictly rifle (.22-250, .308 and .223 for certain), and;

2) I plan on shooting 400 to 500 rounds per month.

Thanks again for all help.:cheers:

OK, for the volume you plan on loading, and the calibers, I'd go for the Hornady Lock and Load progressive.

The press has the strength to size your cases, and a powder measure that's better with extruded powder than the Dillon.

Thanks once again for your reply and your suggestion Canuck, I do appreciate it. It had come down to deciding between the Lee anniversary kit or the Hornady lock and load progressive, but I am hearing a lot of good things about Hornady. I think your advice has sealed the deal.

Now just to find the right dealer.... :D
