Getting your rifle ammo and scope over and back to Africa

Good morniong all,

I am getting some very mixed messages on getting my rifles, scopes and ammo over to RSA for an upcoming hunt. Could someone who has had the pleasure of doing the admin on this point me in the right direction of what I have to do to get it over there and back again. The South Afircan paperwork seems quite simple but the Canadian stuff might be a big arg, looking forward to your replies.

I used a service, HOLA SA. They met me at the gate, I bypassed the security lines, the rep got my gun case from the large parcel area and took us to the office. The process took about 30 minutes total, less time than it takes to get through the Edmonton Airport on a domestic flight with checked bags.

I would use them again, if nothing else it controls the possibility of a shakedown and in the overall scheme of things on the $25,000 safari the $100 I paid them was insignificant.
