any intrest in this conversion, the wood on the e-1 e-2 would have to be opened up to allow the steel lips conversion to work, just wondering if the gevarm owners out there would pay 200.00 for this modification, think about it 50 rnd steel lips 10-22 mags in your gevarm.:)

mag conversion...?

Excellent idea, but the gevarm is a bit diffrent than most .22's as the ejector is part of the mag... :-/
I once bubbafied an old plastic marlin mag with a 7rd gev mag as the feed tower, but it only lasted a few hundred rounds.... seems that it might almost be worth while to remake the old 20rd mags??? I sold my gevarm and went to a 10/22 I just couldn't spend $150 on a .22 mag!

So what is happening with this? Are you modifying gevarms to hold the 10/22 mags? and wally willy what are his limits to sizes? can he o bigger? 20/ 30 maybe.

20-rd Source Found

moosebeans - Heard today from the guy on West Coast (Canada) who says he's found a source for 20-rounders at $150 ea. He says he's ordered one and will let me know how it works out. IF they're okay, all I've gotta' do then is figure out how to get them shipped down here...

Still think someone could make a bundle if they went into production of the various capacity mags for this line of rifles. And, offer lower prices than what they're demanding now.

Get your friend to "whip-up" some 15 to 30 round magazines for the Remington 597 and he'll make a small fortune!!

Hi Moosebeam in Calgary !
I know of a fellow (he's a machinist) who has made up 10-15 shot clips
for the Gevarm (Breakdown) and they work excellent !!
He sells them for 80 or 90 dollars ! (and testes them all first)
If you or anone is interested in them , send me an e-mail at

Wally willy, just sent you an email! I'm looking for a clip (any capacity) for my Gevarm, haven't looked real hard, but seems they're hard to come by!

Does anyone know if Gevarm made (makes) different models of 22 semi-auto? Mine is about 50 years old or so, and has no model number, just says 22LR Carabine Automatique. I would hate to spend $100 on a clip from across Canada and have it not fit! Im in BC BTW.

There areat least 3 models i know of - one which fires from a closed bolt (conventional type) and two which fire from an open bolt one takedown, the other not. the magazines which fit the takedown model do not fit the non-takedown (although the nontakedown will accept the takedown mags if you open up the magazine well). TI've never seen the conventional type but I imagine the mags are different for it since the open bolt masgs have the ejector as part of the design.

I did the same, I've had 2 Gevarms, I really like the rifles but the mag situation sucks...I had a 20 and it didn't work worth crap...10 22's have the great advantage of lots of mag options cheap...plus they're built a lot better and heavier...

Mag conversion for Gevarms? That'd be awesome...

I have one of the "fires from open action" type and would also be interested in a mag for it. The original mag must be a little out of shape as it has a tendancy to jam about every tenth round in the top of the receiver. Looks like it is coming out of the mag at too much of an agle due to the top of the clip being too wide/worn??

Fun little gun and I still have all of the different sites for the front but need some parts for the rear site. The windage adjustment plate with the "notch" in it is missing as well as the screws that adjust it. The stock has a chunk out of it as well, so if anyone has an old one in good shape, I may be interested in that as well.

The eight round magazines fit all the guns. The 20rd has to be fitted to the E2 export take down model. you can't convert the hk 270 22 magazine to fit a gevarm---totally different fed systems on the magazine. I have both and destorying an hk magazine isn't worth the effort.

I have an 8 and 20 round mag for my Gevarm A-3. Both fit fine in it. Would be interested in another 20 or 30 rnd mag for it. I would not be interested in making any mods to my rifle though.

I have aftermarket 10 rnd mag & 2 original 20 rnd mags. All work fine. No problems in my E2

I got hold of a military rifle magazine manufacturer in the US who can make .22 magazines. Asked if he could copy my 8rd and 20rd gevarm magazines.emailed back that he could do it ---but didn't think the market was big enough to recover the "tool up" costs. Nice of them to give it consideration.
