HI folks.
Wondering if I could get some ideas on the value of this firearm.
Yes, I know value is generally based on what someone is willing to pay but a ballpark would be nice.
Not trying to sell it here, but I may post it in the Exchange forum if the value is there.

I recently acquired a French made Gevarm E1 open-bolt take-down .22 semi auto. From the pics you'll see it's in excellent shape for the year.
From what I've been reading it's one of the most reliable .22's ever made in terms of ftf's because of it's bolt design.
The take-down aspect makes it a great backpacker also.

Maybe a little less due to cosmetics. The big mags draw a bit of premium but I don't know why as they are not that well made. The main thing is that whatever mags it comes with work! I bought a brand new one form old stock that Tradex brought in a while back and it was a total lemon. None of the mags worked well for any of the ammo I tried and with the recoil spring spacer in either position. I heard they were a pretty neat design and reliable but mine was anything but and on top of that the iron sights were so far off vertically as to be unusable.....not that that mattered much as it barely ran.

I don't think he believes you :D

Up for sale is a rare French made Gevarm E1 open-bolt take-down .22 semi auto. From the pics you'll see it's in excellent shape for the year.
Stock in excellent condition. Some paint chipping around tripper guard and slide bolt. Serial # etched onto left side. No rust or pitting on barrel.
It's one of the most reliable .22's ever made in terms of ftf's because of it's simple but highly effective bolt design.
The easy 1-bolt take-down aspect makes it a great backpacker also.
Includes Tasco scope and 1 10 round magazine.
$450 + shipping to the majors. EMT preferred. Lowballers ignored.

Gevarm factory rifle mags: the 8 round magazines work the best. the 20 round magazines have to be loaded with less than 20 rounds to work.

I saw that $450 aswell lol maybe the scope is going for $200;)

Just this weekend at the Calgary gunshow saw 4 takedown Gevarms with 8 round mags in better shape than yours selling between $200-$350.

I came out of the show with a Gevarm target model with all the peep site pieces in the pistol grip for $350.

,
If just looked at the rimfire section of the EE. There is a SPF on this rifle. Somewhere out there is a "live one" with a bucket of cash and not a lot of knowledge.
.

I got mine from epps with the 20 round mag in pretty darn good shape for 145$! and that was in September of 2012. Sounds like I did pretty well.

These things are out there... i didnt have to wait too long for my takedown Gevarms, got my first one from no-more-gunsupply ;) when those new shipments came in few years back came with the 20 rounder mag. Next one came from gunshow $200 with 2 twenty rounder mags. Fun guns for sure, wish the walnut was bit stronger wood tho, very easy to damage ugh.

Even have a Rubi-Extra south american copy. Note to self, open bolt 22s rock!!

Yup, sold it yesterday for what I was asking despite the estimates.
Took it out today for one last time. Great firing gun. Can't beat an impact like this:
