Sorry, bored on the bus ride into camp.... I have some nice .22 bolts that are very accurate, would just like to clean up the accuracy of my old hand me down.

It is in very good shape, but is not the greatest on consistent tight groups. Realize the results comes partially from design but would like to tighten up and gain any advantage. Gonna give the barrel a good cleaning of course and was thinking of maybe attempting to fuse the barrel to the receiver to keep it consistent? I have no need for the takedown feature.... Was going to polish up the bolt and inside of the receiver for sh*ts and giggles while bored this winter and, ahh heck - I'm just spinning my wheels for nothing ain't I....

It came from my Dad, so I'd like to actually hunt with some confidence while using it.

D.K.

Yes glass bed the fore stock barrel channel and the rear of the fore stock where it contacts the reciever. I used regular acraglas gel except around the two bolts that hold the fore stock to the barrel. I dug wood out from around the bolts and put steel bed in there. Huge improvement in accuracy. If you want to scope it mount a pistol scope on the barrel like I did, If you put a scope on the receiver it won't stay sighted in.
