Gewehr 98 claw mount base enquiry

Good day Gents,

Just wondering if anybody can point me in the right direction in regards to blueprints, schematics, close-up pictures of the "claw mount" style base for a Gew 98 sniper project. In particular, I need to figure out how the rear base is configured to accept the claw mount (spring mechanism I'm assuming).

I've gone through Mr Law's second edition of "Backbone of the Wehrmacht" and Mr Senich's "German Sniper" book but cannot find the info required.

your picture archive one is locked by the rear lever.

The other one is a squeeze or sliding latch.
 
Thanks Lee Enfield. I didn't mention in the original post but I plan to fabricate my own from scratch. That's why I'd love to get my hands on some blueprints or even a sketch of the locking mechanism inside. Google is not my friend on this search.

Tinman204, I'm going to be in Winnipeg mid-month if you'd ever consider selling let me know please.
I'd like to learn more about these mounts to. I have a set like in the pictures but I've never figured out exactly how they work.

Buy a set of the Vietnamese repro mounts off Ebay as they will be the closest thing that you will find to copy.

I'll have to dig mine out and post pics here. I know they are claw mounts but like I said I know nothing about them. I don't even own a scoped rifle to be honest.

They are old that is for sure as I got them in a large parts lot my brother and I baught several years ago. The parts were from. A long departed gunsmith's estate and we're in storage for years.

I'll have to go dig them out.
 
Here's what I got, mine are way different!! Funny how the mind works as looking at your pics OP made me think of these. Here's what I got, not sure what they are for but I'll post pics anyhow. Look more like a manlicher style claw mount.





 
If you go on Ebay ,look at items , 251901431672, 251901403640, 251901420681 there fairly self explanatory. buying the copies is the way to go if you want ones to copy.
 
Thanks everyone for taking the time to point me in the right direction. Right now I'm still planning on fabricating my own. Just want to make it as authentic looking as possible to keep with the characteristics of the rifle. She's a beautiful beat-up old Danzig that someone decided to drill and tap for a modern scope. Definitely need to keep it original looking.
