New shooter here, getting 9mm PCC first for practice at a cheaper cost.

Was settled on JR Carbine from local seller for $1300 but now other store has GHM9-G going for $2200.

Is it worth spending the $900 more for a rookie shooter?

Thanks

I have never handled either but from what I have read the GHM9-G is a step up (the price certainly reflects that).

In the past I have purchased the cheap option when deciding between two firearms and in every instance wound up getting the more expensive option somewhere down the line. Now I save myself the hassle and buy once cry once.

YMMV.

Thanks for the reply - appreciate the insight.

Unfortunately the looming c21 garbage may factor into how much I want to spend on a rifle that may soon be relegated to safe duty.

Merry Christmas.

Save your money and buy a Ruger pc9. These are excellent firearms and come in a few configurations. Owned about 6 of them now and they have always functioned with no issues. The B&T are nice but for that kind of money you can get a Ruger and 2000 rounds of ammo.

Thanks for the reply - my friend has the Ruger I've shot it a few times nice gun shots well. Was looking at something different so that we could swap while shooting at the range.

Have my eye on the Ruger Gunsight Scout in the future.

Freedom Ordnance FX9?

The most ARish of them all, non restricted and the most modular (lots of options to make it run the way you want - like lego for men)

I have the ruger with adjustable stock, FX-9 Gen 2 and a Jr carbine with stainless barrel. I take the Jr out of the safe more than the other 2.

Considered the FX9 but read that it can be finicky with ammo - also looked at the Kriss Vector but seems kind of big and bulky for 9mm.

I think most of the problems with the FX9 are from the buffer being too light.

You're not wrong about the Kriss, it is big & bulky. The recoil mitigation system is cool but overkill for a 9mm IMO.

I like steel and aluminum....not so much a plastic lover...JR will take a beating and keep going, and as I've said it before...factory support is second to none.
Lots of stuff to mod with...triggers ( AR) to furniture ( also AR).Barrel comes off in a out 2 second...stock ...not much longer....and yes the dreaded lower take down screw....lol. the way we take care of our firearms these days ....the lower screws, should never be a problem.

It was the steel and aluminum of the JR over the polymer of the FX9 that made me go in that direction. People grumble about the takedown for cleaning - guessing it's probably pretty straight forward.
