Ghost ring...is it worth having?

I'm going to pick up a DA with the 12.5" barrel, at CanadaAmmo the price is only $10 more for one with ghost ring sights. This is going to be a pack/camp/truck gun, its also going to spend a lot of time in a scabbard, I'm worried about the sights hanging up in the scabbard and generally getting in the way. Until recently, my truck/camp gun was a Maverick 88 with just a front bead, and I never had an issue. Should I be concerned about this? I see no real need for ghost rings, but for $10,I'm thinking why not. Are they easy to remove if I find they don't work for me?
 
yes, for a shotgun shooting primarily slugs adjustable GR sights are definitely worth it -- especially on a short barreled shotgun where the bead indexing may not be perfect.

its a $10 option from the factory. if you get a bead and decide to go GRs in the future itll cost you around $150.

you can remove the rear sight but not the front. absolute worst case scenario if you find you hate them you can unscrew the rear GR, and put it along with the barrel on the EE. itll sell within minutes and you can buy a plain 12.5" bead sight barrel to replace it.

What he said. I can only shoot slugs at my range, and those sights made a huge improvement to my short shotty's accuracy.
 
wish I could afford to shoot slugs....

I have beads on my short barrel shotguns, mainly cause they end up shooting wayyy more clays than they do slugs.
 
Just a heads up that the DA Grizzly ghost rings do snag if you use a scabbard. the front sight post has very sharp edges for some reason.

I don't particularly like the stock ghost rings, but like others have said, it's a $10 option and aftermarket ghost rings will cost you over $100.
