Hello!
Anybody has been through that kind of job?
I'm contemplating the option of installing a Ghost Ring sight on my 870.
I put a 20" raised bead police magnum barrel (parkerized finish) with cylinder choke on it and a Tacstar +3 magazine extender. Feels and looks great! :)
Now, is there a currently available adjustable ghost ring that would work readily with a raised bead front sight?
If yes, where can I get one and what brand and model?
Is there a template available for positioning, drilling and tapping the anchor screws? what type of screws, # and pitch size?
I tend to favor blackened stainless ot blued steel screws with a Torx or Allen socket.
Any comment or advice is welcome!

I would of thought a knowledgeable guy like yourself would have a Brownells catalog at hand.:) If not check on their website, seems be me they list the hole spacing and screw size on various models of rear sites.

Because I prefer a post front site, I am unable to comment at length on the usefulness of a bead front site with a ghost ring. If you measure the height of the bead above the center line of the barrel, you should be able to calculate the height of the ghost ring. If the bead works well when aiming across the top of the reciever, I would think the ghost ring will have you printing high.

Just don't try to order a sight from brownell's. I tried the other day and was turned down. Seems that new securitey regulations forbid the selling of shotgun parts. I can buy handgun or rifle parts worth less than 100$ but not shotgun parts. go figure?

You were turned down because you didn't have an Import Certificate.

No problems getting gun parts, with the correct paperwork.

Great, but how does a rank gun part importing amateur GET a certificate? if you have the time to lay out the basics of who I need to talk to it would be very much appriciatted!:D

Buy Canadian?

Well, I would be more than happy to find what I can see in the Brownell's catalog somewhere else this side of the border.
Do you know of a store that stocks and sells tactical shotgun sights (and other accessories) here, in Canada?
