The Williams aperture sight drops right in, no gunsmithing, no sweat.

I can't seem to find a straight answer as to whether a peep-sight made for an AK-47 will indeed fight the Vz.58. I've seen people say "yes it will, they are interchangeable" and also "no, it's more narrow than an AK sight". Does anyone know first hand which is true? I was thinking about buying a Krebs, but has anyone bought and tested the Mojo? The Williams is out for me as I consider the Williams "cheap", but it would be nice to hear about it too. Mostly, can I buy a Krebs AK-47 short rear peep-sight, and have it fit my Vz.58? Thanks all.

P.S. Peep (from the time that God was a boy, up to the 70's), Aperture (80's to the late 90's), Ghost Ring (current) = The same thing; a CIRCLE. It's just new terms for the same old thing folks. ("Peep sights" if you're old school. Aperture, or Ghost Ring, if you want to sound "cool.") The terms are so convoluted that half the people that use them don't even really know what they mean. However, nobody is confused with what "peep" means, and that's why I stick with it. The confusion of terms is a great example of Fashionista incursion into the world of "BOOM STICKS." (I.e. Guns ;) )

Yep, so did I; originally. Now I hear people using those terms to refer to any rear sight that is a CIRCLE. It's so maddening. I get so irritated listening to people at my local Gun Store throw these terms around so often that they end up changing the meaning. The bottom line is, all of them are CIRCLES. Yes there are minor differences, but for those who are totally confused--and if you are new to firearms, then there is no reason why you shouldn't be confused by these terms, as many people today who use them don't even really understand what they are saying (they only have a vague idea of what it means, and are hoping to ""get by"" on it)--it suffices to say they are all CIRCLES, and that if you say the oldest term, Peep, then you'll be fine. That was my point with that. Krebs? Krebs? Mojo? Anyone?

EX: Fashonista's on "Ghost Rings."

Fashonista: ""Don't you know!? Don't you know!? Gahh' I mean, anyone who's anyone has Ghost Rings on their rifle!""

Me: "What is a ""Ghost Ring?""

Fashonista: "If you don't already know, then I'm not going to waste my time telling you! Come on S'vlad!"

LOL.

a "ghost ring" sight is an aperture sight that sits close enough to the eye, so that the rear sight blurs and becomes a "ghost" image automatically centering the eye. However the term now is used to describe any aperture sight.

Is the Ghost Ring Aperture different from a Peep, or is the Peep more like an Aperture, while being less like a Ghost Ring; alternately, are the Ghost Rings and Peeps interchangeable even if the Aperture is not applicable? I think the Peep and Aperture are superior to the Ghost Ring, although I have no basis for comparison, since nobody can give a definitive definition for any of them that does not overlap the definition of the others. The best analogy that I've been able to come up with is: Peep is like Rock, Aperture is like Scissors, and Ghost Ring is like Paper, but only when they're not, and even then only on Wednesdays (I.e. Opposite Day). Then again, the PeepApertureGhost Ring trumps them all, but only when it doesn't. I'll tell you one thing for sure, it's making my head hurt. So long as you can Peep (look through) the Aperture (hole) in the Ghost Ring (hole that is there, but really isn't) you'll be fine. I'm just going to punch a hole in a piece of cardboard and tape it to my leaf sight because I'm going through an existential crisis right now about God, Holes, Guns, and ultimately, dare I say it...Zombies!!! Duhn't, Duhn't, Duhhhhh! Head for the hills!!! LOL.

In all seriousness, thanks for the info on the interchangeability Obi.
