I'm currently shooting Shadow out of the Bladetech DOH, but am thinking about Tanfoglio Stock 3. I think I'm ready for a 'race-style' holster, so the question is: Ghost or CR Speed? From the info I could find, it seems that CR Speed is more universal than Ghost, so it can be used with a bunch of other guns, including the Shadow.

TIA.

Do you plan on shooting in te US? If you do you'll need to keep the bladetech as raceholsters are not allowed in Production (rightfully so IMO)
If you get the opportunity to try one put some draws on the clock out if both the raceholsters and the bladetech and see if it's really worth the step up (and money)

Neither, go with a DAA racemaster, replace the insert when you change guns for 50 bucks not buy a new 200$ holster.. I have Tanfoglio, cz and revolver inserts its a great holster IMO...

I thought the CR Speed works for STI/SVI, CZ, Tanfoglio etc. without modifications, am I wrong?

I will keeep my Bladetech, just didn't want to buy a new one each time I want to try a new gun. So I thought I'd actually save $$ by going the CR Speed route.

You are partly right about the CR Speed ... IMO it's a PITA though ... I've set them up for my Tanfo LC 2 (does not work well) and for my wife's CZ Shadow (no issues). The problem that I found is that the different shapes on every gun's trigger guard makes the CR Speed a challenge to set up correctly.

If you stick with your Shadow, it should work ok. If you go to the Stock 3, it may or may not work properly. I would call Sean at Freedom and see if he has any input.

To setup CRSpeed you'll have to play with various inserts and other pieces. In this regard DAA holster is easier to change and to me it feels more secure then Ghost.

On the other hand, I switched to bladetech from crspeed for my shadow and don't see any difference in speed of the draw. The bladetech actually protects gun better from the weather and bumping into things.

I think there is a specific CR speed made for the tanfoglio square trigger guard. I am using a bladetech and a ghost...both good holsters. I was thinking of getting a DAA holster...looks nice and is getting good reviews

Agree - BT is the 'sheet'.

Едрёна матрёна - погремушки в ваши ушки....

I never once smoked 'shift' - I drink ... ha ha ha...

What the forking shift is 'againt'?

BT holster is the one I use and like a lot ... this far.

Man - I'm just pulling ya chain.. :D

CR-Speed and square Tanfoglio trigger guards don't play well together. The holster can be rigged to hold the gun securely, but it requires some pretty extensive modification. See modification here:

I am not aware of a specific CR-Speed holster made for them but that doesn't mean there isn't one. In any case, for a production rig I would stick with the BT. That way you can use it in the U.S. for Production Division whereas, the various flavors of bikini holsters are not approved.

I even had Sean at Freedom set one up for me ... still didn't feel right .. snatchy on the draw, wobbly sitting in it ... either that or so freakin tight that it pulled my belt up as I was drawing ... not good ... I know one guy who had his Tanfo fall out of the CR Speed as he was moving ... DQ ...

Eugene, what are you smoking down there? :)
I didn't get what you have againt bt holster.
LOL Eugene, I didn't know you speak Russian - or is it Google translator talking? :D 'Cause it made no sense to me either...

In the last 4 months, Rescomp came out with a Tanfoglio specific WSM II holster.
Thanks, Sean.

Thank you all for the info. I found a perfect solution to my dilemma: a friend is pre-ordering a TanFo Stock 3, so he'll have to solve this problem first - and I get to try it out before spending $$ on anything. :p

But I understand now that trying to have a single holster for multiple guns is silly, thanks for clearing this up.
