Hi

I got one of these Beretta clones in polished stainless steel and noticed a scratch near the muzzle. I didn't use it yet.

This is the pistol (stock photo):

Does the front of the slide touch the barrel when it fires? If it does, I'll assume it will scratch even more and I would not waste my time and complain about the scratch to the store as I intend to use it and not have it as a safe queen.

But if the slide does not touch the barrel when the pistol is fired, I will certainly try to have it fixed. It does not look as bad in the pic, but when you see it, it stands out as the barrel is well polished.

Btw, what's been happening lately? For the past 2 years every brand new firearm I buy comes with cosmetic issues. My previous purchase was an RFB and it seems that it was simply dumped inside the cardboard box with a lose empty case and scratches all over it. It is like they are hiring Liberals and NDP to package the firearms in the assembly line.

Thanks!!!

I have the Girsan Yavuz 16 as well, mine is all black but exact same model as yours no scratches on my barrel yet 500 rds through it so far...but I do have a small scratch/wear on the grip wear my wedding ring scratches it from the recoil.

I've had about a thousand rounds through mine, and no scratch like yours, but I do have some wear on the BOTTOM of the barrel near the muzzle where I guess it rubs on the slide. But like you said, it's not a safe queen.

I suspect its a "self clearancing" type issue, but take it apart and check carefully to see if there is any abnormalities in the slide or a bit of crud stuck in there. I don't think it should be that prominent.
