Girsan Yavuz 16 vs CZ-75B

I like the Girsan for the money, I know several people that own them and they're just as much pistol as the Beretta 92 IMHO. Only time will tell to see if they hold up as well as the Beretta, but I suspect they will.

I have a CZ and I've had a Girsan, both are great guns. I had a problem with the extractor pin walking on my Girsan, a dab of blue Loctite cured that. Both guns caused no other problems, fired everything I stuffed in the mag. My hand prefers the CZ and in the end that is all you need to know. Which one fits your hand best?

Redshooter - That's an excellent question but I've only seen the Girsan via Internet sales (CanadaAmmo, Wanstalls) and consequently have no direct experience.

Does anyone know of a bricks and mortar shop near the GTA that carries them?

Wholesale Sports had both when I was looking, so you can hold them in your hands and work the actions etc.

Don't get me wrong, the CZ 75 series is excellent. you can't go wrong with one. There is a fair amount of price difference tho, so that does bear paying attention to.

I picked one up off the EE with 50 rounds for a price that I could have two before getting a CZ or a real beretta. That being said, I already own a CZ pistol and I would have bought a SP-01 if I had the funds. I think price is a big deal.

Some solid posts here. Really, you're not going to go wrong.

I have both and each have their merits.

Which one excites your dreams and imagination more?

Any Beretta 92 F/FS will fit your hand pretty much the same as a Girsan. Gangon in Oshawa lists a 92 FS in their stock. Just pretend it has finger groove's...

you can use every m9, 92f 92fs part. Some may need slight fitting, but everything is the same. it is a 92f with different words on the side, and a steel guide rod and metal trigger.

This is funny. I own both of these pistols, that is CZ 75B in stainless and just recently got Girsan Yavuz compact. I'm just about to take them both to the range and very specifically compare them for handling and accuracy. I shoot the CZ a lot but only put about 150 rounds down the Girsan. Over all, fit and finish of Girsan for the price is impressive, handling and hand fit is as good as CZ's, CZ has a better safety system, I don't like the Girsan's system when you turn the safety on, it automatically de-cocks so when you turn the safety off, the gun has to be re-cocked. For servicing and field stripping the Girsan is even better and simpler to operate than CZ. The triggers are very similar in nature on both guns. The accuracy comparision is coming up.

you don't have to re #### the pistol after you decock it. it still works just fine in double action. Rack it, decock it. then when you are ready to use it, safety off and squeeze the trigger.

If you are using it for IDPA you can rack, decock, then safety off again and holster, depending on what class you are shooting in. You can also holster it safed, then draw and safety off, aim and shoot.
