Hi All,
I'm a newbie to to the forum, but anyways, I just picked up a Springfield M1A National Match and want to put a Sage M14ALCS stock on it. Are you able to glass bed these stocks and do you think it would be worth it? Anyone have any experience with this stock and the fit/stability?
Thanks!

I don't have any first hand experience with the sage stocks but from what I can tell they don't require any bedding.

mr83g0n3 is correct. The SAGE chassis system relies on metal on metal tension bedding for the receiver. It also aligns the barrel & op rod with a large op rod guide block the is bolted to the chassis. Any barrel whip forward of the op rod guide block can be tamed with a barrel whip screw at the front of the chassis. No glass bedding needed with the SAGE EBR.

X2 on the above post. I just bought one and from the research I have done glass bedding is unnecessary. The stock should bring your groups down at least 2MOA at 100 meters.

I don't think anyone has worn out a SAGE yet to require bedding. I will say, though, in my research on different chassis systems for bolt action rifles, some guys still bed the action on aluminum framed stocks at the critical contact points. I don't own a SAGE yet, but it's in the forecast. Wont' be for another 2 years or so.

Tony.
