This is my first attempt at bedding. With the action sitting loose in the stock, I can rock it front to back on the recoil lug. Should I remove, say, 1/4” of plastic out of the stock below the recoil lug before I begin?
Also, should I bed any distance beyond the barrel nut? It’s a sporter weight barrel.
