Glass beding a sks?

You might want to save yourself the work and just simply drill a hole in the back of the thigger guard and run a 10/32 bolt into the reciever bottom. This clamps the stock between the guard and the reciever and is a simple solution rather than glassing it. We've tried both and this one is more effective!

I didn't use any kind of resin to do mine. I just used the steel reinforced apoxy and it worked great. Very easy and very happy with the results. I used the epoxy on my mosin with good results as well.

IMHO, the accuracy will be hurt by any number of factors before the bedding becomes an issue. Buy some more ammo with the time and money saved from bedding and have some fun!

I bedded one. Used the same techniques that are used for an M-1 or 305. Applied compound at recoil lug, bottom of receiver, rear pad of trigger guard, and forend tip. Stablized the barrelled action very nicely; the rifle shot very well. This was a brand new ex-military Chinese.

+1 for buying more ammo and learning your gun's capabilities. Unless it's your only gun, i cant see why anyone would do that.

But maybe im taking the piss cuz i was fortunate enough to get an uncommonly accurate sks.

Before tinkering with your SKS...

Set up sandbags and a nice solid rifle rest, etc.
Make sure the barrel is not touching any rests or bags.

Bench shoot your SKS from this position and be amazed, try other ammo, now compare target to the others where you have shot the rifle off-hand, is it you? Or the Rifle? Or the Ammo?
