I bought it cause it looked cool . wanted to try and mount a scope but my gunsmith recomended against. he said he wouldn't fire it at arms length let alone look down the barrel. granted it has jammed on me a couple of times. I thought that was normal for semies ? dose anybody know anything about GLOBE rifles??

It is a Soviet SVT 1940 extensively altered and fitted with a Lee Enfield .303 barrel. Frequently they have excessive headspace. Some of them function satisfactorily, others don't work well at all. Some owners are satisfied with them. They do not enjoy a good reputation.

dosnt have a modle # on it underside of the bolt is stamped AK3973. It isnt completely unreliable . I have shot about 60-70 rounds thru it and it has jamed 3 times . thanks for all the intel guys

Yes, a Mohawk 555; the number electro-penciled on the bottom of the bolt is the serial number, and it should match the number on the side of the rifle.

Heard something about a bunch of misshaps with them years ago. Never laid eyes on one myself. If a gunsmith says that. Than I would stay away myself. But I don't know if it's a stereo type or fact with them.

Dave.

found a picture not my rifle but identicle to it.

LOL, my buddy bought one at last years High Prairie gunshow. He finally got the gas regulator and piston guide unfrozen and apart last week.

Hopefully with more gas it won't have the annoying tendency to burst fire.
