Well, I have a new Glock with very stiff magazines.

Standard procedure is to load them up for awhile in the safe and condition the springs.

They have been sitting loaded for a week, and I checked them today.

Playing with the Glock mag loader, I was able to (very forcibly) put an 11th round into the magazine.

Is this normal, am I going to hell?

The 11th round is VERY hard to insert, but it does insert.

I'm joking of course; but would like to hear others experiences.

Well, the way I see it... it's a 10rnd mag (not a pinned job) and as you said you had to use the loading tool to get it in. I think you are safe, but I don't know if I'd keep doing that as it could spread apart the lips and make for an unrealiable magazine (I bet it bulged out pretty good).

This was simply making the Glock single stack mags actually hold 10 rounds without Superman's thumb.

11 rounds will likely bend the feed lips over time for sure; not a good idea.

Plus, I'd bet the round is to tight in the magazine to chamber well.

Not an issue really.... Just an interesting point.

10 or 11 rds

I have several glocks.... And I also have noticed that 11 rds will fit into a mag. 2 of my mags 11rds fit in with no problem. I load my mags with bulk ammo, and I never count how many rds fit in, I just fill it till it stops, When firing I thought I miss counted my rounds, but this happened on several occasions. So I started counting and YUP 11rds. I shoot these mags a fair amount and have put over 1500rds thru each mag in the last 7 months with no problems at all.

Recently I started counting my rounds before I put them in so it ends end holding only 10. To date I haven't had a stoppage with my glock with only a tiny 5000rds thru it.

So as for the 11 rounders? Well they sell them as 10 rounders so I'm not worried about it.

Just my 2 cents

I remember hearing people talk about that, and while you might be able to physically force the 11th round in there (let's be honest, there are a lot of mags which you can force more than 10 if you apply sufficient force), it won't work - it'll be too tight for the slide to chamber it.

Well, i don't thinks it is going to do any good to your mag. BTW, i would fear for the mag lips. Also, if you put one round in the chamber and force the mag with 11 rounds in, the gun might jam. But, feel free to try it if it is not a service weapon. The worst thing that you will end up with is a jam and a mag to be replaced, but avoid this if it is a duty pistol, you will put your life (and othert's) in danger.
