Glock 17 Generations?

Can someone point me to a website that would explain the differences between the different generations of the G17?

I'm leaning towards picking one up, but would like this info prior to going shopping (forewarned is fore-armed?)

and I THINK the gen 3.5 has a third pin (locking block pin I think) which allows for swapping a 40SW slide onto the 9mm frame (although the ejector needs to be changed).
