Glock 17 or Springfield Armory XD service model 4

I’m a first time pistol buyer, and I need your opinions on whether to buy the Springfield Armory XD or Glock 17. Which one is a better, more reliable pistol?

I have said it before, virtually everything about the XD is a rip off from Glock,
Go with the glock and be done with it.

I belong to a revolver club and I'm almost done my club training, I wanted to buy a pistol for target shooting.

Like olympic bullseye? Or shooting human shaped targets?

As someone else said in a different thread "There are more good guns out there than bad"... But it is hard to recommend without knowing more about your goals, experience, budget, training, etc.

They are pretty expensive custom numbers at the high end, by european companies like Walther I think.

But I imagine they all start somewhere like a Ruger MArk III or similar 22 pistol.
