Glock 17 owners - a question

I'm looking around for a very lightly used (or BNIB) generation 3 Glock 17 or to break down and buy a new one from a place that has a good price on them (needle in a haystack :( ) .

I see some come with the Austrian proof markings, and some do not?

I know there's nothing "better" about the guns with the proof marks, but are they rarer, or am I mistaken and every Glock 17 has them?

Thanks

Jimmy

Having owned 2 G17's, and a G22 I have no idea what you are talking about. LOL

Regardless if you want to get one cheap, the last thing you should be worrying about is the bloody proof marks.

It's a Glock. Just buy it, and it won't let you down.

Edit: Just looked up the proof marks thing on Google(who knew) and there is a ton of info on it. Just means the guns has been tested with 130% loads. Serves no useful purpose except to a collector.

Who gives a ####. Im 3rd owner of mine. Original guy buy's gun shoots a few hundred rounds out of it doesnt clean it trades it in. My buddy gets it and over oils the stupid thing and it becomes the range slut. All of his buddies shoot it. I buy it and it becomes my range slut and I let all of my buddies try it. It still shoots 10 rings. Never let me down for my black badge either. Can't say that about the $2800 Sig mastershop one guy brought. Just think, since its used you can justify buying a new one later on just because.

Too true. i always get a kick out of the super expensive match guns that are jamming or breaking parts constantly while my Glocks just keep rolling along.

The follower broke in one of my Glock mags and the only reason I knew it was it would not lock the slide back when empty. It still functions 100% but one of these days I should replace that follower! This is my only parts breakage in 20K+ rounds in two Glocks.
