What spare parts should I have in my range bag to fix my Glock? Followed by who in Canada stocks them.

...the thing is is that if something breaks when your gun is new and you take it all apart and try to 'fix' it when warranty time comes you my be SOL.

Also if you say everything breaks then you might want to bring one of each part ...

a lot of people just bring more than one gun and leave the tool box at home

The way I see it, buy a spare glock

x2: An identical spare pistol is the best option.

Barring that, you might want a spare trigger spring.

The Glock will continue to fire without a trigger spring, as long as you use the trigger reset...

If anything, I'd bring a spare extractor... most common broken part - especially on the 40 cals...

Its a Glock! Buy a hammer and another Glock. When it breaks, liberally apply the hammer to said broken Glock until you regain your composure and then resume shooting with your spare.

why especially on the forty??

Glock had issues with their original 40 caliber pistols, and broken/chipped extractors. We went through a poop load of testing with the engineers at Glock, and tried different extractor/ejector configurations. It seems to be worked out now, but I always keep a few on hand for repairs as they turn up.

As well, there are probably more pistols out there than less that haven't seen inspection by an armourer... They could be missing necessary updates depending on their age...

That said, if I was only allowed one pistol for both shooting, and protection of myself and family, it'd be a Glock...

also just a thought, that since the 22 is the most popular model the laws of probability would suggest they they are likely to have the most 'issues'

As previously stated, pack a spare trigger spring and an extractor.
There are the only parts I've ever seen fail (2 extractors-G21 & G17, 1 spring - G21).
YMMV

Me and a some guys that I work with have put 10's of thousands of rounds through our Glock 22's without any broken extractors. They are 3rd Gen, manufactured in 05 I believe. Probably after the inital teething problems with the 40 Cal.

The only 3 falures that I have ever seen on a Glock are 2 broken slide stop leaver springs and one magazine release spring.

However it does not hurt to have a full parts kit. Not too sure where you would source one in Canada.
