I am interested in purchasing one of the following handguns. I hear many good things about both pistols but overall I can`t decide which one to go with. Both pistols have their own pros and cons. I would like to know which of these pistols is overall better.

Let me know what you have experienced with them. :)

I had Berettas in 9 and 40 for a long time now and never had an issue with this gun.
IMO you better shoot both before you buy and see which one felt better in yr hands.
I vote always for a full metal gun, but again this is only a personal matter !
Cheers !

You haven't decided yet? That looks like an earlier generation glock in your avatar :p

I like the look of Glocks over many guns but when it comes down to BEST gun the one I can depend on in all aspects I would like to hear it from the ones that experienced these guns. ;)

if you like the look of a Glock then that is half the battle some would say. ;)

I own a G17 and have shot the 92fs enough to know that I'll continue to use my club's Beretta rather than spend money for one of my own.
Mainly because the design of the Beretta's open slide doesn't suit my style of manipulating the slide.

I can shoot both equally well.

My full metal choice is a CZ-75b

I have both and like them, one thing don't like about glock is the design cannot tolerate any user error, even a small error. Once you have one round chambered, The gun is half cocked and you cannot decock the gun unless you unload. With the Beretta, you have one round chambered, you still can lower the hammer. Anyhow we use at range and therefore no big deal.

Glock is DA only, it is not cocked when the slide forward and round is chambered. It is only cocked as you pull the trigger and is 100% drop safe.

Glock 17 all the way. This is no contest. Not only is the Glock less expensive but parts and accessories are easy to come by. Not to mention it is one of the most reliable and durable pistols on the market. I will admit it is not for everyone but if it fits your hand go for it.

By the way those who hack on Glock for lack of an external safety or decocker need to work on their weapons handling!!

It's not a true DAO... it's literally "Safe action"... with the slide forward but racked the striker is half primed... pulling the trigger does the rest.

Hmm...I don't think so, from what I understand any cycle of the slide, the gun will be in half #### position, when you pull the trigger, it charge the striker to become full cocked and release the striker. may be someone can clear about this.

Yes but if the sear fails it still wont fire since there is not enough force, So its totally safe.

I have Glock 17 and my dad has a Beretta 92FS. We both love our guns and shoot well with them. He prefers his gun and I mine. Try them out and decide for yourself.

I found the Glock too light. The FS feel like you are holding a more serious piece of business. I definitely preferred the larger grip of the 92FS, even though I'm a smaller than average guy.

Also, in the looks department I found the 92FS far more attractive.

If I was carrying it around all day, or had to do lots of action shooting, I suspect the Glock would be the right gun, but all I do is kill paper once every week or three.

Myself I have to agree with everybody that this will be a personal choice. My own experience I've had a glock 17 (gen 3), 2 beretta 90-two's in 9mm and .40, 2x norinco 1911's, had an beretta m9, 2x m&p40's and a CZ shadow (all in a 2 year period). Only now am I returning to glock with a glock 17 rtf2. Myself I shot the glock the best between all of them. The main bonus I have with the glock is: accessories for the glocks are real easy to find and all the parts u can think of are easy and cheap to get. That is my story of the day.

I have shot both quite a bit and the beretta is much more comlicated which makes me favor the glocks simple reliable design. As far as the grip is concerned I will agree that when you first handle the gun it feels strange but when you actually are shooting it all changes for me. It is super easy to strip and clean, and replacement parts are way cheaper and available everywhere. I also shoot the glock better than any other handgun I've owned other than my norc 1911. Go with the glock you will not be dissapointed.

Having only ever shot polymer frame pistols, shooting my buddies' Taurus 92fs knock-off was very enjoyable. After talking with him we came to the conclusion that the weight and all round sturdy feel made for quite a nice shooting experience.

I drink the glock kool aid, personally. Got a g17 here, and a couple more down south. What I like most is the mag interchangeability, allows you to save some bucks and simplify your mag situation between models of the same cal.

Both are good pistols in their own way and you should find out which works best for you. I was never a big fan of the grip profile of the Glock however I like the Beretta.

Both are very reliable, but if you haven't shot a glock I reccomend shooting one first. I bought without trying one first, and could not sell it fast enough. It shot straight and was not snappy but it was no fun for me! I like a gun to feel like a gun and a toy to feel like a toy. You have to decide what feel you like. Now, if you like the look of a glock over a 92fs, well...even glock guys might look at you a little funny! I mean...come on :)
