Good afternoon Gents,

I find myself struggling to choose between these 2 pistols. I have never fired either and have read many reviews and watched many of debates on these 2 going head to head. I can't decide. The price range between the 2 are very similar especially if purchasing pre owned.
The only current pistol I own is the Canik TP9 which I enjoy however I want an upgrade.
I'm open to other options to if you have suggestions, I'm looking to spend no more than 1000$ on my next one.
Thank ahead of time for any advice and suggestions.

I shot Glocks for years, and still own several. My PPQ M1 Navy became my go-to for IDPA and 3 Gun as I find the ergos FAR superior and the trigger is way better. Even better than aftermarket Glock triggers.

Only advantage to the Glock is the ready availability of mags, holsters and accessories.

My brother has a TP9SFX. Very nice pistol, close to my PPQ in form and function.

I handled both pre-covid and vastly preferred the PPQ M2. The wife and I both have them now. Nowhere to shoot in the current state of pandemic though. *Sad noises*

We love the ergos as far as dry-fire/handling have gone. Cant wait.

I see you're in Edmonton. I shopped around a bit to find the best price I could and P&D came out on top at $740 for the PPQ M2 5". Threaded navy was a bit more but both well under $1000. P&D had extra mags in stock but I cant recall the price point.

The PPQ is more similar to a G19 in terms of barrel length. It does have a higher bore axis than Glocks so it can be a bit snappier in recoil. The grip is much more ergonomic than Glock and the trigger is a crisp single action. They do seem to be a tiny bit more accurate than Glocks in my experience.

I’ve owned both.

The PPQ is my choice. Best trigger out there, love the sights. Mags are expensive and parts are harder to get.

Glock has a HUGE aftermarket parts availability. Mags are reasonable and not hard to get.

Both are ridiculously reliable and will serve you for many years. Get the one that feels best in your hand.

I have a lot of range time with both my Glock 17 and PPQ Navy M1. Both extremely reliable. I've shot competitions with both and I prefer the PPQ, better ergos, better accuracy (for me). Neither is a bad choice, you really have to handle both to see what feels better.

Owned both

The PPQ is about the same size as a Glock 19

Glock pro's
After market support
OEM parts are easy to find
Track record for lasting
Conversation kits

Glock Cons
-Trigger not as nice but still good
-Grip is blocky, Gen3 and below might be too big for small hands

PPQ Pro
-Outstanding trigger and reset
-Built for small hands
-looks great
-Shoots like a laser
-fully ambi

PPQ Cons
-If it breaks good luck
-The mag pinches my palm during speed reloads and drew blood (I have XL hands)
-Aftermarket support is lacking

Awesome thanks guys.
I’ve found a very lightly used PPQ M2 navy model with 6 mags for about 900$
I’ve also found a 19x for 800 with 2 mags and a 17 for 740$ both new.
I’d love to be able to head to Wild West and try them out but this COVID thing really throws a wrench in everything.

There’s a Walter PPQ,4 mags for $600 on the EE

Last glock I bought gen4 17, love the back straps, lots of parts in Canada, it is sometimes nice to get something different, but glock is hard to beat, oh ya cheaper magpul mags for glock, I would go glock any gen. Sig 320 are nice to or apx, got a beretta apx, great gun mags pricey, have you considered iwi masada?

I ended up getting the Glock 17
As much as I love the look and the reviews and advice about the PPQ the user platform for the glock is so much easier.
The price was quite a significant difference too, I found a site that had them discounted with 4 mags for 800$ for the gen 5.
Although I'm sure once ranges open back up I can justify to the Mrs that I also need the PPQ lol

As already mentioned... Look into the price of accessories. That may seriously affect your decision.

Even if you never plan on doing any internal upgrades to the gun, price and availability of things like sights, holsters, and mags will vary significantly.

My GF just bought a CZ P-10C while it's a fantastic pistol and relatively common, sights, holsters, and mags were waaaaay more difficult to come by and significantly more expensive (can't even get mags, FO sights were $170 and 12 week lead time, Safariland ALS holster is 14 week leadtime). Compare this to a G19 where all of these would be available within a matter of days at a fraction of the price with way more selection to choose from.
