My Glock hardly flips at all with the right reloads, and I'm not compromising much for speed or power either.

I will take a guess as to what TDC meant... the C models do offer a slight advantage in recoil management but no more than what proper training can match, with the downsides (can't fire from certain positions, ruins night-adapted vision, increased noise) outweighing the slightly reduced recoil.

The ports on their own are just not that effective, the only real way to reduce muzzle flip and recoil is a comp.

They help slightly with muzzle rise in full auto. Shot a converted auto 17C in Vegas.

I've shot a non ported Glock 17 that was firing bursts and had no trouble keeping 4-5 rounds on target.

Why not look into a Glock 34?

Its only a half inch longer than a 17. I don't see it adding much in the way of reduced muzzle flip either. The few I've taken for a ride felt just like my 17.

Thanks guys, no need then I was thinking about G34, but no need to have G17 and G34. Did not have an option to try them all at the same time.
