does anyone have a glock 19 or 26 from questar with the barsto barrel? i want to get one of the two. how do they shoot? is it a hassel to get it? how long does it take to get one once you order it? i have been on the search engine here but found out very little. thanks guys.

Picked up one of the 19's...absolutely one of the best shooters I own!
Fits my hand better than a 17...very accurate.
Mark at Questar is a first rate guy to deal with..highly recommended.
If they're not in stock, Mark will give you a realistic time to delivery.
For my $0.02...worth the money.

Any FTF's with the Bar-Sto bbl at all?

Nope.
It has digested everything from Win.White box ball to Rem. Golden Sabre JHP.I believe Mark does the final 'fitting' of the barrel, and mine has run
flawlessly.

Cool, thanks. It still would be nice to have the original barrel handy just in case bbl laws change. Of course I would never use it in the meantime as that would be a no no. ;)

I had him do a custom sub-compact (a G33) and it shoots great... I just gotta build a load that gets the porting working.. cuase 357 sig really twists the little bugger in my hand...

The pics on Questar's site are a little poor at getting an idea of how the barrel protrudes past the slide.

Here is a closeup of the barrel protrusion of the 106mm barrel on the G19

And here is my G19 with the same barrel after a blackening treatment.

The Glock has been totally reliable, from flat nose paper punchers, to +P hollow point people killers.

I would not hesitate getting either the G19 or G26 from Questar.
They are one of the best companies I have ever purchased firearms from.

The factory Glock 19 barrel (and prohibited length) protrudes past the front apprx .110in, the Barsto barrel protrudes past the front apprx .330in
For the math impaired, this is a difference of .220in.
I don't have a Beretta here to measure but it is probably close to the same.

Soli, you will not be dissapointed. I feel that the G19 is the most versitile 9mm Glock.

mdbuckle: I believe the cheapest I have seen a new Glock 17 is for $799, the G19 with Barsto barrel costs $1099. Considering the barrel probably costs $300, thats not too bad. I know its expensive compared to what a G19 costs in the US, but with our current rules, this is just how it is.

Shelby: I did some research and it seemed like no one locally could blacken stainless steel, so I found a company called Caswell Plating, they have a website, just google it. It is a fairly simple process, the surface has to be prepped with a 50% mixture of muriatic acid/water to remove surface oxides, then using the stainless blackener liquid from Caswell in a 30% mixture give or take (30% concentrate) dip it in for only a couple minutes.
Both ends of the barrel need to be plugged, to protect the chamber and bore.
So far it seems to be durable enough, also the barrel protruding never rubs anything so it will last a long time. It darkens it to a nice phosphated look, not as dark as the factory barrel, but in Canada this is the best we can do.
If you need more info, pm me.

According to Barsto, yes on the lead rounds and I am not sure what their word is on reloads. For 9mm it is probably ok, but don't quote me.
They claim that it is a fully supported chamber, but I am not totally sure what their, or anyone's, definition of a fully supported chamber is, ie: when can you claim it is fully supported.

I have a G20 10mm that I was getting deformed Glock smilie cases with due to the higher pressures that a top loaded 10mm runs at (the cases where being deformed right where they where unsupported in the photo's above).

I installed a 5" Barsto barrel and fired the same ammo resulting in brass that no longer had the unsupported case problem as well as the rifling that Barsto uses in their barrels allows you to safely shoot lead bullets as well.

Reloaded ammo is perfectly safe in Barsto barrels as well. 99% of the loads that I shoot in my Barsto barreled G20 are reloads.
