Hi guys,

I'm thinking of adding a G20 to my collection. I always wanted a 10mm and the G20 has the added bonus of becoming a .40S&W with only a barrel swap. 2 for the (almost) price of 1.

But I've read some people experiencing kabooms due to the unsupported headspace. Does anyone have any experience, good or bad, with them? Are there other options for 10mm?

I have shot a G20 enough to completely destroy about 1000 pieces of brass, so I would guess I've got more trigger time in on them than most here.

There is no 10mm platform I would trade the G20sf for. If you blow one up, it's because you seriously ####ed up a load. You will not wreck one with any load I would consider remotely reasonable, including 750 ft-lb loads.

I have never bothered with anything but factory barrels. I shoot "mild hot" for practise - hotter than factory 10mm but not by much - and I get at least 10 loadings out of an average piece of brass.

Amazing weapon. I have found it to be the best shooter of all my auto pistols. The only downside is the cost of good 10mm in the frozen north. Most store ammo is barely over normal .40. Hornady makes som great loads but expensive and harder to find. Great platform , great accuracy and power with the right load.

Personally I prefer G17/22 frame Glocks over 20/21. I had a couple of 10mm, it was a bit of a hassle to maintain (ammo) and I found myself mostly loading to hot .40 specs for everyday range ammo.
