Hi All,

I'm looking to buy a Glock 20 (10mm), but the dealers I have contacted have told me they have none in stock, and neither do their distributers. Does anyone, out there, know where I can find a Glock 20?

For that model you might have to place an order and wait.

Buddy of mine got his 20SF last winter from Wolverine. I'd call them. They had no stock but was able to get it quick. Phone them and talk to Guy Pounder. I dealt with him and for my Ruger SRH 454 and have nothing but praise for Wolverine.

This should tell you something about popularity of 10mm cartridge.

I want a Gen 4 Glock 20:D

You could always do what I've done,
Buy a G21 and then buy an aftermarket conversion barrel and some mags and a new slightly heavier spring (20lb) and another guide rod (just to make the switch easy).
You don't need the new spring but it makes it cycle a little less violently with the more powerful cartridge and the lighter slide of the G21.

This way you also have a 45 which is way cheaper to shoot and easy to find ammo and reloading supplies for.

That I s sound reasoning. I do want a 45ACP in a Glock, but think I will go the two pistol route when I can afford it.

I am hoping this is all jest?
10mm is a godsent cartridge (if you're into reloading)

Jest? No, it is not.
10mm is a godsent cartridge. You mean it was. Now it is an endangered species on its way to oblivion. BTW didn't you say the same about 400 CorBon some time ago?

yes and my opinion still stands, however, I have no more need for it since I already have a 10mm and I have changed my open division setup

10mm is not really an IPSC caliber, but it's a good powerful round! You have to reload for it tho, otherwise it's too expensive and you don't get a true potential of the caliber.

Yes the two pistol route, excellent idea, I have a G21 and a G21SF:D
My 10mm kit works in both.
Going to make it a 3 pistol route when I find a Gen 4 G20 though. I mean a 4 pistol route because I also have a Gen 4 G17.

I think I like Glock pistols.

If you are talking about IPSC open division, with 400CorBon and 10mm you put yourself in very handicaped position.

And this is exactly why I am parting my 400corbon kit. 400corbon is a great entry door to open if you already have a full sized 1911. Let's you achieve interesting velocities without major changes to the firearm, which is great when you are limited budget wise.

The 10mm family is definitely not IPSC friendly (except for 40sw of course) and obviously that is why I am moving on. But these calibers are just plain fun so I have to keep at least one.
That is why OP should definitely go for it if he already is reloading other calibers

I think the 10mm is a great round as well. If we could just hunt with handguns, or use them for protection in the bush (with 15 round magazines) then the 10mm would truly be a godsent caliber. Alas, it is not to be.
