Glock 21 ACP Ammo Questions

Help, my head is spinning and I am confused big time! LOL... I have been reading posts and looking on the net to try to find out what ammo to use in my new G21. It seems there's alot of different preferences out there. This is my first handgun and I would like to ask the more senior and experienced board members for there advise. What do you guys use at the range? Also, what ammo would you guys use for "self defence" that's available in Canada? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Your Glock 21 should be able to eat anything you want. Buy whatever you can from your local shop.

Americans seem to prefer anything 'Hollow Point' for self-defense purposes against 2-legged predators.

Any high quality factory ammo is recommended...

I generally use WinUSA 230 gr. FMJ or RemUMC 230 GR. MC (FMJ)

Just make sure it's wearing a jacket .

A word of advice is stay away from lead bullets. I favour 230gr hollow points but if push came to shove I would not feel unarmed with 230gr FMJs. Regards, Richard

230 grain is most likely the only ones you will find. Not like I've been looking, but nobody around me stocks anything else in .45 ACP. Not like it matters because if your G21 is like everyone elses it will eat anything.

I used to buy dirty bird (AE) and WWB in 230 gn. before I started reloading. Never had any problem and they are both decently accurate for plinking. My bullet of choice is now the Frontier in 200 gn. I don't know why but I shoot better with them than the 230...You'll have to start reloading to give them and the 185 gns a try though.
