So I finally picked up my first Glock off the EE. I've always considered myself a 1911 guy but I had to see what all the fuss was about..
It's a Glock 21 that's been Ceracoted as Nintendo Zapper. (I figure if you want a plastic gun, might as well go all the way and I always loved duck hunt as a kid). It's got the slide milled for an RMR and Trijicon night sites on it too.
Doing some reading up on the 21, it seems that with minimal effort you can get these things to shoot all sorts of calibers... 10mm, 40S&W, 45 super, 460 Rowland... My plan is to upgrade the trigger, maybe the slide lock and put an RMR on it. I'll hopefully have a nice shooting gun that can shoot all sorts of calibers!
I'm getting a KKM conversion kit for 10mm. That should allow me (with proper cleaning when switching back to 10mm) to shoot 40S&W as well as 10mm.
I want to get the 460 Rowland conversion next, which they say unlocks 460 Rowland, 45 Super and 45 ACP reloads as well through the same barrel setup.
Has anyone else done any of these conversions? I understand some KKM barrels require some fitting.. Has anyone done that themselves without a gunsmith? I'm looking for any tips or tricks out there to make this easier.
So what do you guys think. is all a ridiculous idea for a plastic gun?
