So I finally picked up my first Glock off the EE. I've always considered myself a 1911 guy but I had to see what all the fuss was about..

It's a Glock 21 that's been Ceracoted as Nintendo Zapper. (I figure if you want a plastic gun, might as well go all the way and I always loved duck hunt as a kid). It's got the slide milled for an RMR and Trijicon night sites on it too.

Doing some reading up on the 21, it seems that with minimal effort you can get these things to shoot all sorts of calibers... 10mm, 40S&W, 45 super, 460 Rowland... My plan is to upgrade the trigger, maybe the slide lock and put an RMR on it. I'll hopefully have a nice shooting gun that can shoot all sorts of calibers!

I'm getting a KKM conversion kit for 10mm. That should allow me (with proper cleaning when switching back to 10mm) to shoot 40S&W as well as 10mm.

I want to get the 460 Rowland conversion next, which they say unlocks 460 Rowland, 45 Super and 45 ACP reloads as well through the same barrel setup.

Has anyone else done any of these conversions? I understand some KKM barrels require some fitting.. Has anyone done that themselves without a gunsmith? I'm looking for any tips or tricks out there to make this easier.

So what do you guys think. is all a ridiculous idea for a plastic gun?

I'm not certain about your questions but I'll tell you one thing for sure: If you didn't buy that zapper I would have. I saw it on the EE and almost cried when I noticed it was SPF!

Went out and got a normal 21. Sigh...

Hello Josh,

I am thinking of doing the same sort of thing (converting a .45 ACP to .460 Rowland). I already own a GLOCK 41, but the Rowland folks say that they can't convert that one, so I am looking a GLOCK 21s. Please let me know what you find out, and I can do the same.

Pax.

This sounds quite interesting as have a g21 myself. Never read about any of this other than putting a 10mm barrel and recoil spring in them.

The Rowland folks seem pretty specific with their conversion kits. On a Glock, the only ones they list are for the Glock 21 and Glock 30. I'm sure you could convert a Glock 20 as well, as it's an identical frame as the 21 and shares the same dimensions, but I haven't seen anything about a G41 as it would require a longer barrel.

Looks like Wanstalls Carries the kit for a 1911 conversion, but nothing for Glock.

The only place I could find to import one is from ###### armoury.. The have depots in the States and Canada, and say they'll do the import at no charge for the stuff they stock. Unfortunately they are not a sponsor here though for what it matters...

If anyone is looking for a cheap G20, I also happen to be selling one on the EE.

I'll see if I can get some pics up at some point as well!

I have a 400corbonn barrel in mine (pretty obscure caliber now) and a .22 conversion upper. There are several other options you haven't mentioned...

I'm a little scared of doing the 460rowland conversion - you either need a barrel with a muzzle brake or a stronger recoil spring which means there's a lot more stress on the frame.
