Im just wondering what the story is on this pistol? I was shopping for pistol and my local dealer showed this to me and showed me the price of $569. Bought it on the spot it felt so good. Anyway why are they priced so much less then the standard Glock 22's? I get that it has "fish gills" and no interchangeable back strap but is that all?

Cheers!!

That's pretty much it. Put 100 rounds through one and my hands were hurting pretty bad after. But I know some people like it and it doesn't bother them.

Internally it's still a glock 22

I too have a RTF 22 and like it very much. The reason for such a low price compared to the standard 22's is because it was a bust. Lots of Police forces ordered RTF's but ended up returning them because the Rough Textured Frame were rubbing on the officers uniforms and ruining them. Also, some say the texturing was too aggressive and hurting their hands. It also didn't go over well with the rest of the general public for the reasons stated. As a result, we now have the Gen 4's with the bigger pyramid texturing. So, thats why dealers have gotten so many all of a sudden. They just took a while to trickle in from the USA.

I like my G22 RTF2 a lot. I also have a Gen4 35 and while I like the gen 4 over the gen 3, the RTF2 is best in my books. They are apparently not for those of a delicate disposition or wearers of soft shirts. I have shot mine from holster a far bit and never had any problems. I bet you will like yours too, but use the money you saved to buy some reloading kit, you'll probably need it.

I have an RTF2 and like the rougher texture over the regular Glock but that's just me. Then again, I don't have soft, supple hands... :p

I have a RTF 2 and I love the rough grippy texture. I am a mechanic and have very tough skin on my hands as a result. If you have soft delicate hands you might not like it, but for me it's great.

ive got a gen 4 and ive shot the rtf-2... i like the rtf-2 better. if i could find a glock 17 rtf-2 ide grab one... perfect for ipsc..

where did you get it from?

Might want to look into getting a Lone Wolf replacement bbl. You can get a conversion bbl. so you can have a Glock 17, it is the same gun as the Glock 22. Also consider the Lone Wolf replacement bbl so you can shoot lead in your Glock. The stock Glock bbl. leads up quickly and it expands the brass so that the brass won't live long.

thats what they say..
problem here is yes it will work, but no its not 100%
.40 and 9mm have different guiderod springs and ejectors. you will have to technically run +p ammo or get the proper spring... not such a ig deal.
something i heard about the ejectors (havent seen first hand) is that the glock 22 with a conversion barrel makes the ejector tap the primers. not a big deal for spent rounds but if you have to show clear and you pull back hard apparently some people claim the ejector can set off the primer.... ive only heard this from 1 person.
so if you do this just be cautious.

as for not shooting lead in a glock barrel...well they also say you dont have to clean your glock.
i use aim projectiles and reloads in my glock 17 gen 4 all the time and have never had a issue. i always clean my guns after use very well, and frg lube the bore before shooting..maybe this keeps the barrel from gumming up as much or maybe its because aim projectiles are copper washed (not FMJ) and not bare lead.
yes, glocks do beat up the brass though.. but for 9mm they seem to re-size just fine. in the end of te day it is suppose to be a combat pistol, designed to just keep shooting, so it has loose tolerances, including the chamber, it has taken every bullet ive put in it..

.

Well I did manage to find a Lone Wolf 9mm barrel and have put about 1000 rounds through it so far and have had zero issues, it amazes me that the conversion is so simple, quick and works so well. I usually put about 250 or so rounds through it per range trip and my hands dont hurt at all, then again they are rough from the gym and work.

Cheers!!
