Has anyone dropped in an aftermarket 357 SIG barrel into a Glock 22 before?

If so, which barrel (brand) did you use, and did you have any issues whatsoever?

Do standard 40 mags work fine?

I have been thinking of doing this as I would not mind having something in a non standard caliber to shoot (if you can call 357 SIG non standard).

Any advise appreciated. :)

I have a conversion barrel for the G22. It is a stainless steel extended and threaded barrel from FAC. It dropped right in with no fitting required. Fed and extracted 100%. Used it a couple times before I sold my Glock. Worked perfect except the sights were a bit low at 25 meters. I found that the 357SIG had a much nicer recoil than the .40 did, even when using 125 grain JHP loads at 1500+ FPS. The .40 mags worked just fine. I must have put about 100 rounds of 357SIG through the G22 before I sold it. It is a nice calibre, gives a quick sharp recoil and a big flash and much more comfortable to shoot than the .40SW.

I just got back from shooting .40S&W in my Glock 31 :)
Yes, the mags are interchangeable.

My barrel is OEM so... of course it worked very well.

You may have issues trying this in a 2nd or 3rd-grn frame; I've got a 357 barrel I've tried in a 2nd-gen 22, and ignition was spotty.

FWIW my conversion barrel was on a 2nd gen frame. Also, how would one have ignition problems? Perhaps the slide is not fully closing? You may need to do a bit fo filing on the front of the hood to alleviate the problem...
