Other than the obvious calibre difference, when pitted against each other, which compact Glock comes out prevalent? If you own either one, or better yet, what are your thoughts?

I owned a Glock 26 and it might be glock perfection in its original configuration, but I found with an inch of barrel sticking out the slide in the canadian version it was not very aesthetic. Also I found that the Lonewolf barrel that I had lost its black finish after very few rounds. When I was shopping for this and comparing the two models, all the info that I could find was coming from the states. They can get the Glock 19 and 26 in the original configuration at no extra cost. If they were forced to pay several hundred dollars more for one with a fugly barrel the reviews might be a bit different and the Glock 17 might not look so bad after all.

I have a glock 23 whch is .40 same frame as G19. Its the smallest id go with a range gun what's the point point of getting a ccw gun if you cant carry it?

Just a question, although I'm pretty sure I know the answer: Does the G27 have the same length of barrel sticking out from the slide as the 26 does.

Either way- I'm leaning 26. Why do I want a small frame pistol? 1) Because I can. 2)It'll complement my G17 and finally- 3) My sister is getting her RPAL to use guns, but doesn't want to own any of exclusively, and the G26 fits her hands perfectly. An extremely nice member at my range let us fondle and fire his.

EDIT: Also, since Questar is the only site sponsor who has them available (I don't mind the 2-week wait), when I order I might see if they can thread the barrel and throw in a thread cover just to make it look a tad better, even though I really don't mind the 106mm barrel.

I bought a 26 and a 19 when Questar first brought them in. I quickly sold the 26 because it was hard to shoot and it was ugly. I kept the 19 and it's the one gun I own that I'll never sell. Just my 2 cents...

Your kind of comparing apples to oranges. There are .40 and 9mm versions of both the compact and subcompact glocks.

G26 vs. G19

I've shot both the G26 and the G19, both in the short barreled, what would be considered 'prohib' 12(6) category here in Canukistan. I preferred the G19. I found the G26 really torqued in the hand.

Well, not as much as the G27 [short frame & barrel .40 cal version of the G26] but enough that personally I prefer the G19 over it.
