Hi experts(and those who think of themselves as such)..Just looking into changing connectors for a lighter/smoother trigger and was advised that the 3.5# and a comp trigger spring would be the way to go. Just looking for opinions of those who actually use them, and recommendations as to type/source. Thanks in advance
Cheers

May i suggest a Ghost 3.5 connector and a wolf (reduced power) striker spring.

I found these to be a very good combo for getting to 3.5 lbs. Nice and smooth.

If you do use the Wolff striker spring you will however need to reload using federal primers. the other primers are a bit stiffer and sometimes dont fire.

the ghost 3.5 connector by itself is still very good..

I can give you the brownell's part numbers if you like.

I use the OEM 3.5# connector to clean up the trigger pull in my G17. With standard striker spring, I get a 5.5# trigger pull.

gushulak, I'm wondering why you would want to increase your trigger pull by using a NY1 spring?

Thanks for the feedback gents. I appreciate hearing from those actually using the items rather than those who only have opinion and no experience:rolleyes: . Your comments are well received. You have some great suggestions. Now comes the hard part...Actually doing something about it.
Cheers

I was surprised at the difference in feel between the factory triggers on my G17 (with the original trigger) and G34 (with the 3.5 lb trigger)--the G17 trigger feels quite similar to a regular two-stage single action pull with a light first stage and then a short, heavier but quite crisp second stage. The first stage of the G34 trigger is heavier than the first stage on the G17 and the transition to the second stage is not as noticeable--and the pull of the second stage is a bit longer than on the 17, although it is smooth and definitely lighter than the 17. I certainly shoot the 34 better than the 17--especially past the 20m mark--but I'm not sure if it's the trigger or longer sight radius contributing more. My gut feel is that the lighter trigger does help--especially at the longer ranges like 50m.

I have a Glock 3.5# connector in mine. It's great.
If I were ever allowed to carry though I'd definitely go back to the 5# connector :)

I hate the way the stock coil spring makes the trigger feel mushy. The NY trigger is much better and I shoot way better with this setup. Using the 3.5#connector and the eight pound NY1 trigger gives me a crisp 5lb pull.

guys, remember, 3.5# disconnector does not equal 3.5lb trigger (i.e. it doesn't mean a G35 trigger).

I think I have the 3.5 disconnector in my gun, and I'm just over the 5lb for production (but this is how I got the gun, I've never tried/shot it any other way). The trigger is fine, it's a Glock trigger, so it won't be light, but for as long as that's what you want, it's fine...

No, everything on my Glocks are OEM parts. I run reloads by the thousands through my guns and have never had a failure to feed/fire or eject. I do use Winchester primers exclusively on my reloads. I do shoot factory JHP's often and have never had any issues with loads not going off.

As stated, I like the 3.5#connector and NY1 setup, perfect for IPSC and all other uses. I didn't want to lighten the trigger too much, I like having a trigger you need to pull, liability issue for me I guess.

btw, the Ghost 3.5# connector is a glock factory part, but the contact surfaces are slightly buffed, otherwise its an OEM glock part, slightly modified.

I have a model 34 and after use it weighed 4lb6oz.I got a new trigger kit by Ralph Sotelo and droped it in. The trigger then went to 2lb4ozs.I altered my old trigger striker cruciform like Ralphs and installed it to see what it would weigh. It weight in at 1lb12ozs. There is a good write up in Brian Enos web page on glock triggers. To alter the trigger your self you will need a 1/16 carbide drill bit. The steel in the Glock trigger is hard.
