I have handled a G36 and they are great! I wish Glock would bring out the same gun in 9mm and .40. I have not shot one yet but will soon. However, this is all moot since we can't have them here (barrel too short and will never be imported into Kanada)
I've fired several, but I think they're meant to be carried a lot and shot very little; I've got big hands, so I can normally only get my two middle fingers on the grip, so they REALLY want to twist up when fired. If I was able to buy something that small, I'd get a 26 or 27.
I read a lot and from what I can gather the Glock 36 is better for people with smaller hands but it has more recoil than a Glock 30. I own a Glock 30, it is an amazing little pistol. Why? My G30 is accurate, reliable, compact, and soft shooting. What I am saying is if you have large hands you are better off with a G30. Regards, Richard
I don't think a G21 barrel will fit on the 30 but it would be great if it did. Hey richard do you have a 21 you could try this with .
Another option Max, would be to get a g21 and shorten the grip (I was thinking of doing this myself  ). There are a couple of companies in the US that do this but with the Glocks being "plastic" I would think this is something one could do themselves. Get a G30 mag and cut the grip to fit.
I have a G27 (extended barrel) and shoot it better than the g22. It has a barsto barrel, and while it is wicked accurate it is not as reliable as the factory barrel. So I think the grip reduction would be the way to go.
Here's a pic of my G27frame and G22 slide/barrel with a little photoshop...
A buddy has the Model 36 and complains that he sometimes pinches the heel of his hand when seating a magazine. I tried his and I can see where that could be a problem. I haven't had the opportunity to shoot it.
I had a Model 30. It was a reliable and accurate gun. I never liked the looks and my wife convinced me to give it to my son-in-law.
The difference in the length of the prohib G36 barrel and being able to convert it to restricted is only 0.36".........
I can live with that. 8)
Actually it would match my G20 that stock is a 4.6" barrel and I installed a 5" KKM match chambered barrel. The extra 0.4" gave me an extra 40 to 50 fps velocity with my top 10mm loads as well.
