Does anyone know if this Glock conversion kit is available in Canada? I must have one. I think it would be great for IPSC.:ar15:I should certainly make major power factor.:D

Does it look cool? Hell yeah! But that's where the pro's end.
It's actually a pretty tame cartridge for the size - it's comparable to .45ACP+P.

If you want more bang for your Glock just buy '45Super' brass and reload - It's waaaaaaay more bang than .50GI (and a hell of a lot cheaper).

I don't think anyone will ever carry this item.

Is there a lot of info on the WWW about 45SUPER? Where do you find brass? Do you need a conversion kit, etc?

Thanks

haha...SLLLLLOOOOWWWWWW down merc...how bout u get used to ur DE pimp-gun first before u start making all us weee folk look bad. that said, ill totally support ur purchase of this if ur willing to sell off your DE

just think about it...

cheers

LOL you guys are killin' me.:D I spent too long dreaming about the DE .50AE, and looking at it, and touching it, and finally shooting it, to EVER sell it. I love that gun. I've just started the process of import/export with Sinclair in the States to get 2000rds of .50 bullets. I've got the dies, shells, powder etc so as soon as the bullets get here I'm gonna hit the range and blast off a whole bunch of rounds.:50cal: Then as soon as I get a holster and a few extra mags for it I'm gonna do an IPSC match with it. I can't wait for that.:runaway:Hehehe, imagine doing an IPSC match with a .50cal Gold Titanium Desert Eagle.

WOW!

Does that EVER look cool! :D

Doesn't it though? I really like the silver slide on a Glock. I've got a AA .22lr conversion kit on the way and apparently the slide is made of aluminum with black paint on it. The first thing I'm going to do is take the paint off and polish the slide.

I emailed guncrafter and here is the response I got.

Dear John,

This is a brand new item, you can find pictures/info on our website w ww.guncrafterindustries.com We will start shipping in about 3 months, cost is $595.00.
We are taking orders on a first come first serve basis. A $200 deposit is required per unit. We will contact you shortly before shipping at which time the remainder is due.

Here's some general info:

The 50 GI conversion unit will fit Glock pistols 20/21.
The unit consists of a complete top end and a magazine, simple drop-in installation on user's Glock frame.
Capacity is 9+1 with extended base pad, 8+1 with standard base pad.
Slide and barrel machined from stainless steel forgings.
As is typical of all Guncrafter Industries' products, very high quality machining to tight tolerances.
Easily controllable, with .50 cal. stopping power.
50 GI factory ammunition available from Guncrafter Industries, as well as 50 GI brass, bullets and reloading dies.
This is a conversion unit, not a complete firearm. Therefore, no FFL is needed and it can be shipped directly to the user.
Shipping cost to Canada for one unit is approx. $15, with one set of dies enclosed the shipping would be about $18.
Would need to know how many cases you want to quote shipping....

Will get a catalog in the mail for you.

Best Wishes,

Alex Zimmermann

So it looks like the RCMP won't have to be involved in classifying it or whatever it is they do. I'm not sure about export from the States though. I would imagine because of the cost it's something the State Dept would have to approve with proper import papers. I'll send off another email and ask them specifically about that.

Talk about ideas. The next thing I'm going to do is make up a big batch of balistic gel and shoot a round of .22lr, 9mm, and .50AE each, into it. I will be filming it of course. :DI talked to the RO at one of the ranges I go to and he said "Sure give it a go.". Usually they say you can't shoot anything except paper targets, so I'm hoping he doesn't change his mind. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the difference is between the rounds.

Oh yeah, don't be so sure you'll kick my ass in production. I could shoot at half your speed and still win with a powerfactor three times yours.

Actually, I'm not sure how much difference the powerfactor vs. time would be. If someone shot 12 A's in 10 seconds with a 9mm minor, and another guy shot 12 A's in 20 seconds with a .50AE would the .50AE win? Anybody know?
