The swap between .357/.40 is barrel only and takes seconds.
The 9mm as simple, but you need 9x19 magazines. This conversion was also not reliable due to the fact that sometimes the brass would miss the ejector and not eject. But it didn't happen often and was still quite fun.
Yeah, and what’s going to happen is that people won’t see that and reply to the original posters not realizing the posts date from back when Pluto was still a planet. Just create a new thread. The OP hasn’t been online here in 12 years.I realize this is an ancient post
I realize this is an ancient post, but wondering if anyone GLOCK ARMORER knows if with the new Glock 17’s Gen 5 -if you could get a slide and barrel for a .40 S&W to allow the built to shoot 9mm Glock 17 Gen5 could safely and reliably shoot .40 S&away using a slide, barrel and magazines for the .40.
My understanding is that the frame is the same. The slide has to be changed to fit the larger barrel, and obviously the barrel and also the magazines. But these should fit the 17.
Does anyone know??
I realize it’s an odd switch. But it sure would be fun.
I mean Glock 17/22 and 34/35 always shared the same frame throughout the Gen's. I cannot see them changing GEN 5 frame to be separate that a 22 slide wouldn't fit on a 17 frame and vice versa.I realize this is an ancient post, but wondering if anyone GLOCK ARMORER knows if with the new Glock 17’s Gen 5 -if you could get a slide and barrel for a .40 S&W to allow the built to shoot 9mm Glock 17 Gen5 could safely and reliably shoot .40 S&away using a slide, barrel and magazines for the .40.
