Goodday,

As a seperate topic from the generations post, I'm also wondering about the different .22 kits available for the Glock 17. What generation pistol do they work on? Or does it matter?

Where would one find one in Canada? How much should I expect to pay? Good experiences (and bad) are welcomed.

Also, I've been made aware that there's a Mec-Tec Carbine Conversion unit for the Glock. What do people have to say about them? I like multiple applications with single fire-arms...plug and play and such.

Experiences and comments desired!

For a 22kit, AA kits seem to be held in the highest regard. They are priced competitively and work quite well. You have to buy a specific model for a specific gun but I think they work on all generations of that gun. I know my AA kit worked for G17 and G22 models, and I think for the G19/23 models as well.
Contact Police Ord for pricing, AFAIK.

No info on the mech-tec sorry, although I know Questar and Freedom Ventures offer some interesting things for Glocks.... ;-)

AA is by far the best and most reliable:D . As a matter of fact, The Shooting Edge in Calgary is now carrying the Advantage Arms kits:eek: for around $349 I believe. Best check with them for sure or visit the website. For applications, u can visit the AA website and view the stats. Same kit for G17 and G22 but u can also get LE or Target versions.
Cheers:)

Mec Tech talk to Freedom Ventures, I heard on the grape vine at my range that a Mec Tec made a Glock 17 emtpy the 10rd mag on FA.

Have a lot of shooting experience with a Glock 17 and believe I know the Glock very well. I would caution you on using a MecTec on your Glock based on considerations of strength and flexing of the Glock frame. I admit I have no personal experience with the MecTec, but am basing my cautionary note on thorough knowledge of the Glock (which, by the way, I consider a great pistol) and consideration of the configuration and functioning of the Glock-MecTec combination. Ask Master-G for an opinion.
