Today I just heard from a second gun dealer that Glock isn't letting them offer the IOP program for their products anymore.

Has anyone else ran into this or can any dealers chime in on it?

I always thought Rampart were the only one offering it in Canada after Police Ordnance lost it

Korth had it after Police Ordnance but they lost it to Rampart I think. I also thought there was only one IOP distributor for Canada.

Maybe some dealers have sour grapes?

IOP was never offered through dealers - it has been run or administered through the various Glock LE distributors

Something that I don't understand - and has never been explained - is the reason why the IOP program (in Canada) is more restrictive than it used to be, and more restrictive than the USA. When Police Ordnance was running it, the program was the same in Canada as it was in the USA. Now, in Canada, fewer professions are included (while in the USA the program remains the same). What could possibly justify that?

I never understood why anyone other than law enforcement was included. I thought the purpose of IOP was to make it more attainable for law enforcement to privately procure the firearms they use on duty if desired.

But the dealer handles or can handle the ordering process. Glock for whatever reason is disallowing at least two dealers to handle the IOP which seems weird.

Ok again dealers don’t handle the IOP & a specific reason for that / trust me when I tell you that it’s done through the distributor
