How many shots should these little guys be able to take before being replaced?? Its a G17 9mm and lets assume you clean after every 1-2 shoots or 4-500 rounds which I do! Mine has approx. 2000 through it currently.

Side topic: Is failure to feed due to "limp wristing" a legit thing or a pile of horse sh*t?? Im curious :)

I've read online about glocks going through 200,000rds. So at 2000, id say you're safe for awhile;) And yes, "limp wristing" is a real thing, but there are a number of other things that can cause issues as well, "limp wristing" generally occurs with brand new shooters who are nervous about holding/shooting a gun.

As mentioned, you won't wear out the barrel, ever. And the limp wristing issue is a possibility with nearly all semi autos. A correct firm grip cures it. Are there other causes for FTF, yes but using good quality ammo and ensuring your magazines aren't in need of repair/replacement will eliminate nearly all possible causes.

On a side note though, I loaded 4 different brands of ammo into one of my G22 mags and limp wristed it intentionally, just to see if I could get a malfunction... I couldn't. :D

Cool, didnt think I was getting there just yet but wanted to know anyways. My barrels as good as when I got it pretty much! Of those 2000 rounds Ive had no failures anywhere. My GF on the other hand has come out a few times and only when she has been shooting have FTF's occured. 4 times total, back to back on 2 different shoots! Gotta train her better I s'pose lol. Are any other parts ex. RSA needing replacement after a certain amount of use and if so what parts?

Ive been questioning my Gen4 cause of the issues. I had an unmarked RSA that gave me no issue and got the new one last week 10 days after speaking with Glock. New one works fine just like the old one. A little lighter i guess. Now ive heard there is a possible ejector problem and that a new trigger housing will be coming out soon for approx. $15?

All I know is the thing works everytime for me and I would trust it on my hip anyday. Shot 1000 MFS rounds without any issue and they are the dirtiest of the dirt cheap that Ive seen anyways!!

Recoil spring needs replacing every 5000 rounds and the trigger return spring(the tiny S shaped one under the cruciform sear) can and does wear out, replacing that at the same interval as your recoil spring should keep you running without issue.

There is a function test to determine if the recoil spring is still good. Im pretty sure its listed in the manual.

There sure is. With the muzzle pointed up, retract the slide until the action is just out of battery. Release the slide, if the slide can't/won't drag itself back into battery, the spring needs replacing. The easy option, replace the spring as often as you feel necessary but atleast every 5000 rounds ;)
