Glock Factory Barrels

Yes it is safe. The unsupported chamber issue is a non issue. The Glock series of pistols have a SLIGHTLY less supported chamber when compared to other pistols. The area around the feed ramp is where the relief/unsupported concern is located. You can shoot anything you like through Glocks, including lead reloads. Just remember, any and all reloads will void your warranty. When using lead be sure to clean your barrel after every outing and keep a close eye on it.

You should use copper plated bullets or jacketed bullets in a factory Glock barrel. The plating works to stop lead build up in the barrel. It's also just struck me - I can be slow - why there is so much debate on this issue (debate as in "I've shot lead for 30 years through my Glock with no issues" versus "on the 200th round it went boom") - If a person shot a 900 fps load of commercial hard cast bullets through a Glock it would take a good amount of time to develope an issue, whereas a 1200 fps load with home cast wheel weights and no hardening would build up very quickly. Hope this helps.

"The unsupported chamber issue is a non issue."

WRONG! Avoid reloads of unknown origin, high pressure reloads, and lead. If you follow this advice you should be OK. Regards, Richard:D

Did you read my post?? The use of reloads was covered. Anyone who shoots reloads of unknown origin deserves to have their pistol blow up. As for the chamber support. Here's a pic comparing several common makes/models. Notice the similarities between Glock and the Beretta 96.
