Hey guys! I had held off from buying a glock for quite awhile because of the finger grooves. They don't really fit my giant fingers. Lol. I wasn't really interested in the gen 1 or 2 because of the lack of rail. At xmas time I was at my LGS looking at the Glocks. Tried the 17 and didn't like the grooves. Then I noticed the pachmayr grips that fill in the grooves. So I got a 17 and the slip on grip. But I was never one for a slip on grip.
So I'm thinking of removing the finger grooves. If anybody has done this could you please post some close up pics if possible. Maybe share techniques and the tools you used.
Now before all the sell it and get an M&P comments ;) It has crossed my mind and I might yet. Lol. I had to sell my PPQ which fit my hand perfectly and had a real nice trigger too. Still missing that one. Lol.

So getting back on point anybody that's done this it would be great to see what you did.

I'm like you…not a fan of "finder groves" on my G17. The Pachmayr grip acceptably smoothed out the "finger groves" and the added girth fits my hand nicely.
It's been on my Glock for about 3yrs now…

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I wish they gave you the option of no finger grooves or maybe interchangeable front straps.
Here's the pachmayr grip I'm running. It does pretty much eliminate the finger grooves. I'm fine to keep running it this way. I'm just curious as to what people have done to theirs and how it looks afterwards. Trying to decide whether or not to try it.

Send it to Calgary Shooting Center and get them to do the finger groove delete? I have held some of their work and it is great.

Thanks bollox!! I'll give them a call. I think they're the ones doing the black box customs? I saw it here somewhere. I think it was around $30 to get the grooves removed. That's probably the best way to go. Then I don't risk screwing it up. Lol

I have these and they smooth out the grip just fine and make it sticky to hold.. I did not want to change the stock in case I sold the gun..

I'm not a fan of finger grove removal, but I do like to alter my small frame Glocks for better fit. Before the mod, it was a tight squeeze on every finger grove, but gaining relief from the bottom of the trigger guard, allows all my fingers to move up on the grip, and reduce pressure against the groves. Here is my G19 G4 FDE which I removed material from the bottom of the trigger guard, and top of the grip itself. It's not quite finished, but pretty close. I used .5x18" belt sander, dremmel, hand files, sand paper and scotch pads to do the work. I did the same work on my G26 G3.
