When I pull the trigger straight back, you will hear a click but it fails to fire the round. If you clear the breech and look at the casing, it has been hit but apparently not hard enough. If you put pressure to the trigger but off to the left, the gun will basically fire the rounds each time-go figure. Does anyone have any idea what is happening. This firearm is fairly new and I have taken it down to give it a good cleaning but the problem is pretty regular. Thanks

have you cleaned out the firing pin channel and checked that there is nothing in there ??

take some enviro friendly brake cleaner and spray the shyt out of the firing pin channel, let it dry and use some compressed air to make sure all the fluid is dried and no residue is left.

the firing pin and channel should be left dry and unoiled.... maybe a light wipe on the firing pin is all you will need but nothing messy.

if that does not fix your problem still.... you can get an extra power striker spring from glockmeister. believe it is labeled as the "black" spring.

I had a problem with my glock not firing the rounds off (light strikes) when I put too much (any) oil/lube into the firing pin channel. Glock firing pin assembly is not meant to be oiled or gucked up! I had to (with help) take that whole thing apart, clean the firing pin so it was dry without any oily crap on it, carefully clean the channel, re-assembl, and no problems at all since then.

If your "good cleaning" included lubing the insides of the slide, or even the general area around the firing pin, that might be your problem. You'll need to disassemble the slide to clean it inside.

I beg to differ with you Westie.

The normal firing pin spring is actually recomended above all other striker springs. CCI primers are hard, yes but unless you are shooting exclusively CCi, i suggest switching ammo before the spring... The other springs (2 strenghts), also available by glock, are made for and have been made specially for ammo made in Saudi Arabia and some Bresilian 9mm, some of it will not even have a marking if striken by a normal powered apring assembly.

The use of harder springs on any other ammo, besides blowing primers (and sending crap everywhere, ie firing pin tunnel) or perforating them, stresses so much the pin assembly that it will cause failures, often seen at Glock UAE.

cheers !

Did you buy this Glock new or used?

Since it will fire when you put pressure on the left but not under a normal pull it sounds like there is a clearance problem with where the striker and trigger plate meet.

I had the same problem when I installed a Wolf reduced power striker spring.

I went back to the original spring & the situation was resolved.

By all means keep the firing pin channel oil free.

If a lighter trigger pull is desired, install a 3.5lb connector. The lighter weight striker spring is not worth the aggravation.
