GLOCK G22 OR G35

Hi there

Both are excellent choices.

Personally I prefer the 22 because it looks quite nice, and if you decide to shoot IPSC down the track then it will be legal in Production division.

However the 35 is slighty more controllable, has a 3.5lb connector already and allows for slightly faster shooting (in my experience).

If I was to choose between the two right now, I would personally go for the 22, but as I said before you cannot go wrong with either...

...unless you were deciding between a Glock and a USP40.

I've got a Gen 2 G17 and a Gen 3 G34 so I'm guessing that the comparison between these two will be similar between the G22 and G35, barring any .40-specific differences. For me, I prefer the G34 over the G17--I can shoot the G34 noticeably better past 15m or so, and from 15m in I've found they're about the same. I was surprised at the difference in the feel--the G34 points just a little bit slower than the G17, but, for me, it wasn't objectionable, just different. I like overall feel of the 5.3" barrel, not too muzzle heavy but nicely balanced, and the 3.5lb trigger helps with the longer shots. Overall, for a typical match with a mix of ranges from 7m to 50m, my scores are about 10% or 15% better with the G34, with most of the improvement at the longer ranges. As HKFan has mentioned, they're both excellent--if possible maybe try both and see which you'd like?

Unless you are going to shoot Production in IPSC, I would get the G35, better balance, all the features on the already on the gun.
